TapeAway website terms
Terms & Conditions
These terms explain how bookings, payments, delivery, editing and customer responsibilities work when you use TapeAway.
1. About these terms
These Terms and Conditions apply when you browse our website, place a booking or buy services from Tapeaway Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales with company number 17215320, trading as TapeAway. They should be read alongside our Rental Agreement, which covers the hire and return of the camera kit.
If you book on behalf of a company, venue or another person, you confirm that you have authority to accept these terms for them.
2. Bookings and availability
All bookings are subject to availability. A date is only reserved once the booking flow is completed and payment or any required authorisation has been accepted.
We may refuse or cancel a booking where details are incomplete, payment fails, the event appears unsuitable for the kit, or we reasonably believe the equipment may not be returned safely.
3. Prices and payment
Prices are shown in pounds sterling. We may update prices from time to time, but changes will not affect a booking that we have already confirmed.
You agree to provide accurate payment details and to keep enough funds available for the package price, any agreed deposit and any valid late, repair or replacement charges under the Rental Agreement.
4. Delivery, use and returns
We deliver to UK addresses that we support at the time of booking. You are responsible for providing a correct delivery address and for making sure someone can receive the kit.
You must use the supplied return packaging and return label unless we agree another method in writing. If the kit is returned late, we may charge a £25 fee for every day it is late, plus any direct costs caused by the delay, so the cameras are ready for the next guests. If delivery or return is delayed by events outside our reasonable control, we will contact you and work with you on a practical solution.
5. Cancellations and changes
If you need to cancel or move your date, contact us as soon as possible. Because each kit is reserved for a specific date, refunds or date changes may depend on how close the event is, whether the kit has already been dispatched and whether we can reallocate the booking.
Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights. Where consumer cancellation rights apply, we will honour them. Some dated hire services, personalised services or services already started with your agreement may have different cancellation rules under UK consumer law.
6. Editing and deliverables
Where your package includes editing, we will use reasonable skill and care to create the deliverables described in your booking. Editing is a creative service, so final choices on pacing, music, clip selection and structure sit with TapeAway unless we agree a specific brief.
Delivery timings are estimates unless expressly confirmed otherwise. We are not responsible for missing or unusable footage caused by camera operation, accidental deletion, venue restrictions or guests choosing not to film.
7. Your responsibilities
You agree to use the website and kit lawfully, to respect the privacy of guests and venues, and not to submit footage that is unlawful, abusive, defamatory or infringes someone else’s rights.
You are responsible for getting any permissions needed for music, venue filming, commercial use or public sharing of your finished film.
8. Intellectual property and content
You keep ownership of your original event footage. You give us the rights we need to handle and edit that footage, provide your package and securely deliver the finished files.
TapeAway owns the website, brand, design, templates and service materials. You may use the finished film for personal use, and any wider commercial use should be agreed with us first.
9. Liability
We do not exclude or limit liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or breach of your statutory rights.
Subject to that, TapeAway is not responsible for indirect loss, loss of profit, loss of business, loss of opportunity or loss caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control. Where lawful, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the affected booking.
10. Privacy, contact and governing law
We handle personal information so we can run bookings, deliver kits, process payments, edit footage and support customers. We will only use personal data in line with UK data protection law and any privacy information we provide.
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also have rights to bring proceedings in your local courts.
